80 Pentacam® users from the Netherlands gathered last Saturday, 11th January 2020 in Leiden to learn and exchange insight about the OCULUS Pentacam®. Thank you to the excellent speakers, who made the event a great success: some participants attended the Users Meeting for the 5th time!
Interpretation of clinical cases were discussed, also Keratoconus staging and progression with the Belin ABCD Progression Display, patient selection, the latest on corneal biomechanics and much more.
We are already looking forward to 2021, when the 10th Pentacam® Users Meeting will take place!

2020 is a big anniversary year for OCULUS. We established our family business back in 1895 and it is now jointly managed by the third and fourth generation. During the past 125 years, the small business that we founded in Berlin has become a globally successful company with its headquarters in the ‘optics city’ of Wetzlar.

To celebrate our anniversary year, we’ve got a few surprises planned for our customers, partners and friends, but we don’t want to give away too much - you’ll just have to wait and see! In the meantime, take a peek behind the scenes at OCULUS.

Tomorrow, 12th December 2019, the second workshop of the first OCULUS Roadshow in India will take place in Bangalore. First stop was Delhi on 8th December and we were very happy about the great success.

Dr Wolfgang Haigis, distinguished physicist, passed away on 15 October 2019 at the age of 72 . He was a pioneer of biometry. Without his formula, cataract surgery would certainly not be what it is today. The Haigis formula has been part of the software of all OCULUS Pentacam® models since 2016. The OCULUS team valued the open and constructive exchange of ideas with this exceptional scientist.
The death of Dr Haigis is a great loss not only to his family, but also to the community and field of ophthalmology.

OCULUS and BHVI (Brien Holden Vision Institute) are pleased to announce an agreement that will see OCULUS incorporate BHVI’s algorithms for tracking and estimating refractive error into its Myopia Master® ophthalmic instruments developed for the management of myopia.

Christian Kirchhübel, CEO of OCULUS says: “Through working with and incorporating BHVI’s unique technology into our Myopia Master®, we can continue to deliver world class instruments to our clients. We are delighted that the Myopia Master® device will make some of the knowledge generated by BHVI with expansive datasets accessible to eye specialists around the world.”

Keratoconus Progression and Regression - Corneal Biomechanics meets Tomography" is the title of the OCULUS wokshop at the CXL Experts' Meeting at 16:00 h on 5^th December 2019 in Zurich, Switzerland.
