Dr Renato Ambrósio Jr, the President of the Brazilian Society of Refractive Surgery (SBCR), was part of the ophthalmologist team who provided a free of charge Pentacam® examination to 250 volunteers in Rio’s busy Central Metro Station. Increasing the awareness of keratoconus among the population was the aim of the extraordinary event which took place on 7th February 2014 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
In an interview with TV Brasil Dr Renato Ambrósio Jr pointed out that the initial stage of keratoconus was asymptomatic and that early diagnosis was essential as there were methods to prevent progression of the disease. Therefore, he added, it was urgently required to inform the population.

LensPhil presented OCULUS at the Annual Meeting of the Philippine Academy of Ophthalmology from 4th to 7th December 2013 in Manila. The European VitreoRetinal Training School provides young vitreoretinal surgeons direct access to expert experience through lectures, discussion groups and live surgery. The 2-week high-intensity teaching course is held in Bremen, Germany, from 19th to 30th May 2014.
